Programs of KOSBE
KOSBE plays a substantial role in creating a climate that caters to small business, helping them overcome barriers they face everyday.
According to the International Economic Development Council: "Small and emerging businesses generate wealth and provide a significant source of employment in today's high technology global economy. They stimulate job creation, develop crucial innovations in both products and services, and diversify the economic base. Thus, it is critical that communities' economic development strategies dedicate resources to developing and promoting new business startups and establishing effective support systems so these new businesses can grow successfully. A community that meets the needs of its entrepreneurs increases its chances of job growth within small businesses, and those gains translate into a more vibrant community."
Accordingly, women of Worth (WOW) and the Propel Mentor/Protege Program are initiatives of KOSBE.
KOSBE collaborates with other organizations across the region to co-host many other initiatives including MEDWeek (Minority Enterprise Development Week) the Kids Business Expo, and Fusion Youth Initiative —the latest undertaking created to support the local restaurant industry.
