KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Small Business Development Center ETSU – Kingsport Affiliate will host “Wellmont Community Conversation Series: Business Impacts of Ebola” on Thursday, October 30 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. The event is presented by Wellmont Health System and co-sponsored by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) and your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce.
The seminar will cover multiple topics including an explanation of what Ebola is, how it is transmitted, how individuals can protect themselves and their employees against Ebola, and the possible effects that Ebola can have on business and the community.
Speakers for this seminar are Tim Attebery and Dr. Daniel Carlson. Attebery is the President/CEO of Holston Valley Medical Center and has 27 years of healthcare consulting experience. Dr. Carlson is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Holston Valley Medical Center and has 40 years of experience in health care.
When asked why community members should attend, Aundrea Wilcox, KOSBE Executive Director, responded: “It is impossible to turn on a TV or computer without seeing something about Ebola. It’s very important not to panic, but instead, to get the facts. This event features two very qualified presenters who want to help community members be prepared in case Ebola affects our area or our loved ones."
There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required. Please R.S.V.P. online at http://bit.ly/ebolabiz, or by contacting Dana Glenn, who can be reached at 423.392.8825 or dglenn@tsbdc.org.
