KOSBE OFFERS GROWTHWHEEL® MARKETING TRAINING

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Small Business Development Center ETSU – Kingsport Affiliate will lead a GrowthWheel® WorkGroup on Marketing on Thursday, April 2, from 9 to 11 am at your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. The event is co-sponsored by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE), and your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce.

The GrowthWheel® is a new business tool for decision making. It offers small business owners and entrepreneurs a way to view their business holistically. GrowthWheel® helps entrepreneurs get focused, set an agenda, and take steps to grow.

Participants of this training will work on an individual action plan or growth plan related to determining the right marketing activities and deciding which mix is optimal for their company. Participants will also learn how to collect information about potential customers and develop typical customer profiles. All participants will receive a kit that is customizable to their individual business’s needs.

This seminar will be led by Aundrea Y. Wilcox, KOSBE Executive Director and Senior Business Counselor for the SBDC at ETSU Kingsport Affiliate Office. Wilcox is also certified as a GrowthWheel® Instructor.

“GrowthWheel® is a great tool for businesses of any size, in any industry, at any stage of development, but is especially useful to existing businesses,” said Wilcox. “The reason for this is that existing businesses have some history and experiences that make GrowthWheel® more meaningful. I really would like to see our well established businesses take advantage of these trainings and make their old business new again.”

There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required. Attendees must meet the following prerequisites — completion of “GrowthWheel® Introduction” training and submission of GrowthWheel® 360° Screening prior to registration. Please R.S.V.P. online at http://bit.ly/18HqzCf, or by contacting Dana Glenn, who can be reached at 423.392.8825 or dglenn@tsbdc.org.

Appalachian Power’s EDGE Grant Program for business retention and expansion supports the GrowthWheel® training offered through KOSBE. KOSBE was one of eight localities and nonprofits that received EDGE Grant funding.
