KOSBE Offers "Contracting Support for Woman-Owned Small Businesses" Workshop

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Small Business Association (SBA) will host a workshop for Woman-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs) on Tuesday, September 30 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. The event is co-sponsored by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) and Small Business Development Center ETSU – Kingsport Affiliate.

The workshop is open to businesses interested in contracting opportunities offered to WOSBs and Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Businesses (EDWOSBs). Attendees will also learn about the difference between WOSB certification and EDWOSB certification, eligibility requirements for both, 4 steps to participating in the WOSB program, Third-Party Certification versus Self-Certification, ways to research current contracting opportunities, WOSB program news and updates, and other resources available to women business owners.

This workshop is to be led by Jacqueline Merritt, SBA Economic Development Specialist.
